MUSS makes an impression

MUSS makes an impression

Two months ago FC Network of South Korea brought their Under-12s side for a team visit to Manchester United Soccer Schools and now they know the value of such a trip.
FC Network’s visit in 2005 has helped make a real difference for one young player who travelled with them. Chang-Geun Lee was part of the visiting team and has now progressed to the Korean U17 national team.
Manchester United Soccer Schools caught up with the player to discuss his memories of his visit five years ago...

What do you remember of your experience on the MUSS program?
I was playing for Pusan I’Park Youth Football Club in 2005 and I was chosen as best player so I could attend the MUSS course in December.
For me, the shooting sessions we did were my best memory of the football coaching in Manchester. The practice where you have two players in one group and they have a goal each side so you either defend the ball or shoot at goal. I enjoyed that one.

How has the experience helped you as a player since?
The experience of the MUSS residential course gave me the confidence needed for me to progress in football. And, I was very appreciative to be given the opportunity to attend. It has helped me a lot to play harder and develop into a national team player. I will try my best to make my dreams come true.

What advice would you give to other young players attending the MUSS program?
The most important thing for young players is to set goals for yourself. Keep that in mind and always try your best to make things happen in a positive way. If you ever have any negative energy just remind yourself of your goals and it will help you keep on track.
