Many happy returns

Manchester United Soccer Schools celebrated its 10th birthday recently, at the Grass Roots Football Live event in Birmingham.
MUSS spent three days at the exhibition dedicated to grass roots football, and over 600 young players, from all over the country, took part in the Soccer Schools’ Skills Challenge in a Skills Zone. These sessions took place throughout the event, and each day eight lucky young players also took part in one of three coaching demonstrations – dribbling, short passing and ball control – and all watched by sizeable crowds.
United legend Denis Irwin represented MUSS at the event and happily posed for pictures and signed autographs for attendees. He also took part in the dribbling and short passing coaching demonstrations, then did the honours by cutting Manchester United Soccer Schools’ 10th birthday cake (pictured).
Mike Neary (UK program manager), was assisted by three MUSS coaches in delivering a practical demonstration in the coaches’ arena to 16 Under-12s, and hailed the event a big success and an enjoyable experience.
He said: “It was great to see so many kids taking part in our skills challenge over the three days. Hopefully, this and our coaching demonstrations gave the individuals taking part just a small taste of what they can expect on a Manchester United Soccer Schools course.”
A signed Vidic shirt and residential course place were up for grabs for 2 lucky winners – find out who they were here.
