Nani's form praised

Portuguese winger Nani is in excellent form for the Reds and living up to the potential he showed when he moved from Sporting Lisbon.

The 23-year-old had been struggling to find consistent form for United, but he has started the last four games and shone in each one.

He has impressed fans with his dazzling wing play - and his team-mates too.

"Everyone knows the talent he has got," said Reds left-back Patrice EVra, who played behind the Portuguese in the 5-0 win over Portsmouth. "Sometimes the fans get frustrated because they know what he can do. He just needed time, he is powerful and quick.

"He has played four games in a row now but I am not surprised because I know the quality he has. I don’t say well done to him every game, I just tell him it’s normal and he needs to keep doing that. I’m very happy for him.”

Nani also earned the praise of club captain Gary Neville, who believes the winger's decision-making has improved and he is making more mature choices on the pitch.

"Nani’s doing the right things and making the right decisions now," said Neville. "It’s difficult to stay with him because he is quick and can go either way.

"He looks in the last couple of weeks like he is coming on in leaps and bounds and looks really confident and strong. It’s happening at the right time for us."
