Twenty of the best U15 teams from around the globe are in Manchester this week for the world finals of the Manchester United Premier Cup (MUPC) at Carrington.

The tournament, sponsored by Nike, is played on Wednesday and Thursday at United’s training ground, with the final at Old Trafford on Saturday (KO 12:00 BST), after Sir Alex puts his players through their paces in the annual Open Training session.

The MUPC's opening ceremony and draw is on Tuesday (19:30 BST), with some very special guests for the 20 teams who battled against 8,000 other sides through local, national and continental tournaments just to get to Manchester.

Over 16 years, the tournament has played host to some outstanding emerging talents. United's first glimpse of Brazilian twins Rafael (above right) and Fabio was playing for Fluminense. They're the latest impressive graduates to join Iniesta, Walcott, Messi, Fabregas, Robinho, Tevez, and Torres among others.

Joining United in this season's tournament are: Atletico Madrid (Spain), AS Roma (Italy), Paris Saint Germain (France), Sao Paulo (Brazil), Werder Bremen (Germany), West Bromwich Albion (England), Alta Loma Arsenal (USA), Atlas (Mexico), Colo Colo (Chile), Right to Dream (Ghana), Orlando Pirates (South Africa), Genk (Belgium), MTK Hungaria (Hungary), Salgoacar (India), Thailand’s Assumption College Thonburi (Thailand), Changchun Yatai (China), Boin Middle School (Korea), Gamba Osaka (Japan), Marconi Stallions (Australia).
