John O'Shea says United did not deserve to lose against Chelsea. But now he says the Reds have to used the disappointing manner of the 1-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge to the team's advantage.
United have to wait two weeks to get back into league action against Everton on Saturday 21 November. But the controversial manner of John Terry's winner on Sunday means the Reds will be fired up for David Moyes' men when they visit OT.
"We hate losing games and we know that we now have to go on a great run," O'Shea said after the game.
"The international break comes at a bit of a bad time - you'd prefer to have another game a few days later to help put the defeat out of your mind. There's a bit of a sour taste left, but hopefully we'll get over that."
At least there are positives in that United dominated possession, even though Chelsea's lead above second-placed Arsenal and third-placed United now stands at five points.
"Not many teams come to the Stamford Bridge and dominate games," added O'Shea.
"We had great spells in the game where we had Chelsea really pinned back and we caused them problems on the counter-attack as well, but our final ball or shot just didn't go for us and we were lucky at times as well.
"We stuck to our game plan very well and were the better team. Unfortunately we didn't get what we deserved."
