Youngster in Oz benefit from coaching the United way
It’s certainly been another busy year for Manchester United Soccer Schools. Over the past 12 months youngsters across the UK, Portugal, South Africa and Dubai have learned to play the United way.
Earlier this month it was kids in Australia that got the chance to develop their game in the fun environment of the Soccer Schools.
Youngsters from across Oz were given the chance to have Manchester United Soccer Schools come to their club or school by entering the AIG Soccer4Kids competition.
Some youngsters won the chance to be put through their paces by the Reds coaches and the Soccer Schools’ Adam Ecclestone said the visits were about getting youngsters to adopt a healthy lifestyle, not a fan recruitment drive for the famous club.
“It’s nice personally for us to come from home and extend the Manchester United family, but it’s not about forcing Man United down anyone’s throats and converting them into Man United fans,” he said.
“Hopefully by the end of the coaching session they’ll have a great appreciation of what Manchester United stands for, which is beautiful football, good people and getting kids involved in football and being healthy.”
The AIG Soccer4Kids competition invited young players to enter an entertaining video which showed a sense of loving soccer, or write 50 words or less on why the entrant was a worthy winner of the competition.
Manchester United Soccer Schools visited 10 schools across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria states.
