United's Dutch goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar says his aim is to be winning trophies at the age of 40 with the Reds.

The veteran shot-stopper last week signed a new one-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until summer 2011, and he's hoping for yet more success late in his career.

"I still feel good and I'm enjoying my football," he said after penning the new deal. "I am looking forward to winning more trophies with this great team."

Van der Sar has been a major influence since arriving at Old Trafford from Fulham in summer 2005. He's been a key figure in United's three league titles and Champions League success in that time.

He turns 40 in October, but Sir Alex says the United no.1 still has plenty to offer.

“Edwin’s professionalism and dedication to his job and the way he looks after himself has kept him in the game for a long time," said the boss. "He has such great experience, not just at United but at Juventus, Ajax and on an international level. We are absolutely delighted he is continuing for another year."
