Reluctant hero Paul Scholes will be centre of attention tonight at his testimonial match against the New York Cosmos, but is hoping the return of Eric Cantona will steal some of the limelight.
The former Reds midfielder, who retired at the end of the 2010/11 season, is looking forward to his last run-out for the Reds but admits Cantona's "stature and presence" will ensure the Gallic genius grabs plenty of the attention.
"He's probably the reason we've sold the tickets," joked Scholes to MUTV. "It will mean a lot to the fans as obviously he was a massive idol here and it's somebody all our fans absolutely love.
"I think it's great that he's coming back in a different role from being a player and everyone's looking forward to it.
"He was brilliant. He was an example to us to see how you should really work in training and, no matter how talented you are, that you have to put the effort in. He was a prime example for us young lads to watch and grow up and learn off."
A number of former Reds will turn out in the white, green and yellow of the Cosmos including Gary Neville, Nicky Butt and Dwight Yorke. It will also provide Sir Alex Ferguson's current squad with a last chance to improve match fitness ahead of Sunday's Community Shield game against Manchester City.
