Darren Fletcher completed his first 90-minute outing since May in the Reserves' friendly defeat at Arsenal.

Over the summer, the midfielder suffered a relapse of the mystery virus which decimated his 2010/11 run-in, but his outing in the 2-1 defeat at Underhill represents a major step in his quest to make a sustained return.

The Scot is eager to get back towards the first team set-up, and Reserves manager Warren Joyce has nothing but praise for Fletcher's endeavours.

"It's great to see Fletch coming through as he works hard and is a tremendous professional," Joyce told MUTV. "It's good to see him come through 90 minutes unscathed.

"It's up to the manager and how he recovers from this but hopefully, touch wood, he'll be feeling in good nick and can take part in training later in the week."
